i have realized lately that i am far less "preachy" than i used to be and as a result, i do not feel as far up my own backside as i used to.. i think my ego is finally, finally, becoming easier to whip and control.
i grew tired of hearing my own voice.. do you feel this way?.
Its not that I don't hold a firm set of beliefs in certain areas, it's just that I no longer feel the need to continually force them down others throats.
I think the moment I had the realization of 'complexity' when viewing life, my mind did a u-turn.

i have been with this wonderfull woman in a "relationship" for almost one year now (ive known her for 3 years).
she is jw and obviously i'm not, our relationship has gone almost exactly like many of the ones discribed here, hiding from parents, familly, church, etc.
You have a HUGE battle on your hands and ultimately the decision lies with this lady you are with at the moment.
I can only sympathize from afar.
She will have the idea in her head that Satan is working through you to move her away from the truth. As you probably know!
Many others have gone through what you are going through at the moment and have come out the other side.
I think practically speaking she needs to examine her religion and see if it stands up under scrutiny, try "In Search Of Christian Freedom" and take it from there.
I would advise you not to pressure her too much, but allow her room to breath.
i just recently join this site because i was looking for a friendly place for witnesses to go and chat.it's ok!..but i seen a lot of witness bashing.there's another site i want to get into, that's also a site for the witnesses.but i don't know what po means.and that's the only way a true witness can get in.i think maybe there is where i want to be.because i don't need to be in a site for witnesses,where its suppose to be friendly.yet witness haters are coming in.i haven't heard any witness bashing anyone in this site..but yet its the other way around.
I've also read your biog and to be honest, this place is probably not ideal for you. You seem to be after a partner "in the truth" and I doubt you will find that here.

As the other posters suggest, if you support the ideals of the Watchtower Society, then you are likely to come under fire
jws certainly do bang on a lot about 'accurate knowledge'.
for most christians john 3:16 is the most important verse in the bible, but to jw's john 17:3 is.
jw's are so enamored with this concept of 'accurate knowledge' above all else that they have basically made an idol out of it.
Jesus is relegated to a good teacher who told lots of nice lessons primarily, from which the kiddies can mainly benefit.
I don't think that is exactly true, but I know what you are getting at.
It's crazy isn't it, the term "accurate knowledge" is used to support many ideas within the organization, yet the precepts are not to be challenged. So a witness cannot actually test out whether the knowledge is accurate in the first place

ok, it?s taken me longer to get my thoughts together on this than i expected, but here is the reason that i have come to have doubts in the divine nature of the bible; its failure to show that the god it describes is abiding by "his" own standards.. for example, according to 2 peter 1:20, the entire bible is inspired of god.
the main attributes of "god" are that "he" is love (1 john 4:8), "he" is just (deuteronomy 32:4), and "he" has all of the power (revelation 7:12).. with that in mind, my first problem with the bibles authenticity is that this ?loving god?
murdered the entire world of men at one point in history by drowning them.
These are the thoughts that are emerging as I read the Bible and frankly, they disturb me. This is my first real attempt at reading the Bible itself and having it stand alone without the bible study aids and I am pretty demoralized.
It's tough isn't it and personally, I know where you are coming from.
I haven't dismissed the Bible entirely and really hope that Jesus is as the Bible writers describe, and will come back and sort out the mess I believe we are collectively in as a planet.
But, I am in a similar situation myself at the moment.
I'm not too bothered though, it's all part of my journey and I'm happy(ish) to sit within the chaos of my thoughts and see what transpires.

i had the weirdest dream the other night i was goin to the memorial(which i did not attend in reality) and there was an elder there from my old cong who recently passed away in real life a couple of months ago.
his ghost was standing at the door and only i could see him, he followed me around the whole kingdom hall.
Used to feel that way myself.
The elders were lurking in my dreams as well - drifting around, haunting me

That is a little difficult in my humble opinion. From person to person 'spirituality' appears to be defined in a slightly different way.
To me, a person who defines part of their character as having a spiritual dimension is alluding to an awareness of an invisible presence operating in their life, often of the 'God' variety
Or, on the other hand, they may be aware of innate connectivity with other conscious beings, in the sense of we are all connected to one big organic matrix that lies beyond the accepted 5 physical senses.
